Workshops.
Over the semester I have attended a few technical and portfolio sessions along side my web project. The first session I attended was a portfolio overview with Andy, which you can see HERE. I found this session very helpful as it prepared me for my work experience interview at Creative Lnyx, which you can also read about HERE.
The second session went over the basics of photoshop and important facts such as how to send things to print and what dpi to use. We generally just learnt how to use photoshop in a quick, professional way.
In the In Design workshop I learnt how to create a PDF and how you can shrink the file down so it is easier to send out to companies. I also learnt the basics of In Design which was helpful as I have rarely used this application I would like to use it more in the future.
The final workshop I attended was the hardback, book binding workshop which has helped me with my FMP work. I am glad I attened this workshop because book binding is something have I wanted to learn for a while.
DNA
I attended all three DNA events and have learnt:
- How to talk to and network with other design professionals .
- That designers and creatives in general are a friendly bunch of people.
- That designers and creatives like to have a drink.( not a bad thing )
I think these type of events are important in the way that you can get your face out there and learn as much as you can about design agencies.
You can read about the DNA portfolio workshop HERE.
