Meet the howies gang

image

I have come up with a few characters for my howies food packaging. Its a camping/wildlife theme. I feel like i need to give them names and personalities. Hmm i will get thinking.

I designed my knitting magazines homepage today. I experimented with colours and layouts until i came up with this….

I had a go a designing the website template we were given. I think i did okay, it seems to look right. It might need tweaking a little bit in next weeks lesson.

Website designs I like.

This is a bit of inspiration to help with my Knitting Website design. I am re-designing the Simple Knitting website which is a bit boring and had to navigate.

I want to use illustrations and typography to create a Knitting website with a modern/fashionable feel.

http://eighthourday.com/ This website has a nice layout. The navigation is easy to use, the header is big with nice images. I like that the content at the bottom of the page shows snippets from the other website pages.

http://hokey.squarespace.com/ I like the design and feel of the website. You can tell its a fashion website straight away by the illustrations a stitching details on the navigation. I like the way your not overloaded with images/adverts and text.

http://www.metsdelacreme.com/ I love the soft colours of this website and the simple layout it has. The first page is flash, when clicking on an image it takes you to a webpage. I am not sure this simple layout would work for a knitting website.

http://www.llymlrs.com/ This is actually a blog but i like the design layout. It has the big header at the top, navigation along the side, to the right and the images/content down the middle.
